Re: itr with 275/30/15

Last year's SCCA D Stock winner was on 275's. My understanding is that they are beneficial on more sweeper intensive corners, but on more transitional courses the 225 may be a bit quicker plus most people I've talked to like the feel of the 225's more. I just got a set of 275's. Ran them at one even...

Re: OEM Lug Nuts

Well, this is just one example, seems slightly ambiguous and can't be considered definitive, but I read this as the lug nuts are conical on the Millenia, Protege, 6, RX6 and RX8. http://www.dragtimes.com/parts/20-Black-Lug-Nuts-Lugs-Mazda-Millenia-Protege-6-RX6-RX8_230409432339.html "One Piece ...

Re: OEM Lug Nuts

No,
I believe the OEM lug nuts are acorn/ball shaped whereas the Millenia wheels are conical (or vice versa). At any rate, I wouldn't recommend using the OEM nuts.

Re: Largest Tire on Stock Wheel/ Suspension

The most common Type R autox setup is 225/45/15 on the front and 205/50/15 on the rear. No rubbing at all. A few guys are running the new 275/35/15 on the front and the 225/45/15 on the back, but I believe they both rub a bit.

Re: SCCA National results (Hartland Park 2008)

I think there's a mistake in there and a couple of those items (8 and 9, maybe others) weren't supposed to go to the BoD for approval as they hadn't been approved by the SEB yet.

So don't panic (yet).....

It was a good time.

Unfortunately, we were pretty far back on PAX, but maybe that will help solidify our DS classing.

Re: Re:

so what tire pressure should we run with 205 v710? 225/205 A6? My friend who is running v710's just won his first national event with his 98 R a few weeks ago. He usually runs 45psi but someone at the event who retired his R the year before told him to run 54 in the rear and he said that made a hug...

Re: data acquisition ???

I guess it pays to have a better unit after reading all the specs. I had forgotten about that site, saved it on my old computer thats dead for a while I have a PPC and laptop, no problems there  Thanks for the link. No problem. I suspect you could get away with the 5 Hz unit and save a couple...

Re: data acquisition ???

The one second resolution may be a little lacking.

Try something like this which comes with software specific to road race/autocross:

http://www.maxqdata.com/

Although you will need a laptop or PDA to record the data.
