Re: Need ABS front & rear units for 97R
I just spoke to an Acura dealer and they confirm D's info.
The 97 R got the new modulator a year earlier than the other models, yeah.
So if D can find the ECU it seems like you guys have got me covered

Re: Need ABS front & rear units for 97R
Hi D and 98allmotor, Just got back from a trip. It seems that the Type R has a different ABS Modulator Valve to the GSR. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=getJointLocator&siteid=214999&chapter=§ionids=18,0&groupid=10002&subgroupid=61094&make=1&mo...

Re: Need ABS front & rear units for 97R
Is the Modulator part # 57110-s30-003 ?
If so I'd be interested in that.
I am trying to find an original 97 ECU though.
thx

Re: Need ABS front & rear units for 97R
Thanks for the input D. I've been looking on carparts.com and there seem to be quite a few used modulator assemblies. What the difference is between the $150 ones and the $350 guys I don't know. If you can find your 97 ABS ECU I'd be really grateful. They want $865 for a new one. I just rebuilt my e...

Re: Need ABS front & rear units for 97R
After a computer scan we got the following error codes:- 1 - 5.1 = Faulty ABS Accumulator and motor 2 - 5.3 & 8.1 = Faulty ABS Controller We checked the ABS motor with a hot wire and it does not run. I haven't seen any threads on faulty ABS either. It's a drag that I seem to be the odd one out :(

97 ITR - Rebuild
I have a 97 ITR #356. I have been using it as my daily driver for over 10 years. After 160k the original manifold cracked plus it was using a quart per K. Time for a rebuild. I discussed it with my local, honda trained, mechanic and we decided to get the head rebuilt and get new OEM pistons, rings, ...

The one that got away
In Jan 1998 my buddy bought 1997 itr #356. When he drove round to take me on a testdrive I was blown away by a 5800rpm virtecual paradigm shift! A year and a half, an aem long cold-air, TE37's and two tickets later, he informed me that he was going to part company :( "What!!! How much?" I ...
