Hi guys, i noticed that the vtec kicks in jsut before 5K rpm, should it not be 5.8K rpm or something in normal stock engine? would it be a change that i am having a modified computer which i am not aware of? how can i check for the ECU?

Oh i got the ink mark of the tranny, it says J4D and follow by LSD below it but not N3E...is it a ITR tranny?

just get rid off the dirt and ochecked but couldn't find the ink stamp...must have been faded out....damn...

I have been looking for it all over the place no no luck, maybe the paint has faded out ? or covered by the dirt? or i just over looked and missed it. if it's the case could someone indicate it from the photo i've taken around that area please . thanks a lot guys!!!

bingo! it says B18C for the upper row and the number on the buttom row, so it's a ITR?

alright guys! it's quite a heavy rain outthere now so i will have to go and check the engine code later.
and fullybuilt2.0, you are quite right , it's just superrr dirty, how can i get rid of the grime and dirt? steamclean i've been told?

The engine came with the car.
So there's chance that it is a b16 160bhp rather than a 200bhp b18c ?!
Any other way to tell? (apart from taking it to a rolling road lol). could it be tell by taking off the red head cover?

transmission stamp...i attached a random pic of another type R engine bay, could you please indicate where about i could see that stamp in ink?

Hi guys, i am new to the forum here, i've bought a 97 JDM type r, but somehow the power doesn't seems it's a type r cos i have driven my friend's JDM 98 spec type R (which i've been told for a dc2 type r JDM), i have taken a pic with the number on the engine. can someone please tell me it's a b18 ty...
