I got mine at a performance shop in Knoxville, TN called KLR. I think it was about $50. If you know anything about wiring a circuit you can make one really cheaply. The parts are about $5 at radio shack. There was a poat on Honda-tech.com with a diagram on how to make your own.
You are better off buying a GSR and then turbo it. I would not buy a type R with the intention of turbocharging it. I turboed mine after the fact, if I had to do it all over again, I would have bought a GSR, saved a few grand, then turboed that. SO TRUE. You pay for upgraded internals that don't ma...
do i have to go into the internals ? how much horsepower should i have with the charger and exhaust headers intake? thanks!!!!!! First of all, with a supercharger you don't need to mess with the internal parts. Cams don't make much difference. In fact when I contacted Jackson Racing (Moss Motors) a...
i just removed my cat and made my own, just welded the correct size pipe in where the cat used to be. and zip tied my O2 sensor to the front sway bar since i didn't have the plug for it in the pipe i made. Didn't you through any CEL's with the 2nd O2 just hanging there? You're idea makes sense to t...
I got a testpipe because I kept reading about high flow cats clogging or rattling after a year. They are too expensive to replace that often.
Instead of just a pipe I used a small glass packed muffler. It only cost $25, it really quieted down my exhaust, and it has no flow restriction at all.
Thanks guys My buddy was going to have one done custom for me but he doesnt have access to a type r (he is in TX i am in PA). He said the powder coat (some form of corosion control) alone cost about 250$. I also guess that which ever exhaust i decide on i would probably want at least one reasonator...
I ran it at the 8th mile a few times and pulled solid 9's on street tires but couldn't get any traction.I'm gonna wait till spring rolls up to get slicks and get it dynoed and all other stuff :) That used to be my car. I had to put tires on it while I was trying to sell it. I forget what they were,...
You might want to look into getting a custom exhaust system. I did it mainly because I had to go up to a 2.5". The stock ITR exhaust has two resonators in addition to the muffler. If you put on a system with a straight through muffler and no resonators it will be considerably louder. I also wan...
MPG only dropped from around 28 down to 25. The Jackson Racing supercharger has a bypass so that the car does not boost when you are at cruising speed. I never dynoed the car, but with my modified exhaust and 8 psi pulley I figure I was running about 220 to 225 HP at the wheels. (Stock wheel HP is a...
My R didn't like the snow too much. Remember the wider the tire the worse it will perform on snow. My wife's mazda protege was much better on the snow. I'm sure it was because of her narrower tires.
If you want an R, get it. Don't pay any attention to all of that "If it needed it Honda would have made it that way" stuff. Most of the guys here have modified their R's in some way. Don't worry too much about the lack of soundproofing. It is only a 4 cyl engine, so it won't deafen you. In...
That doesn't sound like the clutch to me. If it is the clutch you should definitely feel it slip when you first pull off the line. How many miles are on the clutch? What year is the car? How long have you had it? Does the Lude beat you out of the hole or on the top end? If the problem is only in vte...
Well, this is the best place to start. Learn to use the search function. Guys here love to share their knowledge, but they don't like answering the same questions over and over again.
Yeah, I had it listed here for $17,500. I got $17,200, but I had to deliver it to Cleveland, TN. I had heard so much about how modifications don't add to the value that I was afraid that I wouldn't get much for it. I loved that car, but I had a baby on the way so I had to get a family car. I just go...
I finally sold my supercharged R. I was really pleased with the price I got, but I also think that the buyer got a good deal. He saw it listed on Autotrader. One of the main reasons that he bought it was that I had mentioned in the ad that the performance modifications were done at Evans Honda in Ne...
Lighten up guys. What you are talking about here is a matter of TASTE. No matter how right you think you are, there is no right and wrong when it comes to questions of taste. It's like arguing that Mexican food is better than Chinese. The only modifications that you should denounce are ones that hur...
The blower for the ITR and GSR are the same (M62?), but I have heard that the GSR pulley is slightly smaller. This would give a little more boost. Check out the "forced induction integra" forum at hostboard.com. That's where all the jrsc heads hang out. Or just email James Watts at JR (wat...
Check NADA. I think they list 98 ITR at around $14,500. Yours has lower than average miles, but those "uh-oh"s will hurt you. Of course it all depends on how it looks. ITRs are not the "priceless" collectors items that some people think. Do a nationwide search on autotrader to ge...
