Re: Track Wheels and setup?
I considered buying some Mugen N-1's since that is what a lot of racing ITR's use, but when I looked at the spring rates typically used with these dampers, I figured the setup would be murder on the street when driving to the track. I am using Advance Design coil-overs which were valved for springs ...

Re: Track Wheels and setup?
I have a few pictures showing the clearance between the stock brake caliper and stock ITR wheel, as well as the wheel to upright clearance. I also have some pictures of the Team Dynamics Prorace 1 wheel in 15x7 with 45 mm offset, on which are mounted Michelin Sport Cup 225/50/15 R compound tires. Th...

Re: which cold air intake to get  ?
I have read several posts on the boards where people prefer the Mugen intake (called an Air Cleaner & Box on the King Motorsports web site) over any other. As it is by far the most expensive ($650) intake, I am assuming there is a reason people are willing to pay almost double that of any other ...

Trey,
do you have a dyno chart on the Comptech Race header with their custom exhaust other than the one on Comptech's site? It was my understanding that you were going to test this soon.

Re: Track Wheels and setup?
If you want 15x7 rims with 45 mm offset, get the Team Dynamics Prorace rims like I did. They're cheap. I got tired of trying to find Kosei rims with other than 38 mm offset. The Team Dynamics rims are available in a wide range of offsets. Only downside is you may have to wait 4 months to get them. T...

Re: Track Wheels and setup?
I bought black Team Dynamics rims with white lettering. I exagerated a little about the lowering of the car. It is lowered 1.5" all around and not 2". I too was going to buy Kosei rims but I thought these because they looked a lot nicer, and they had a lot more choice in offsets. There was...

Re: Track Wheels and setup?
I have stock calipers. There is a lot of clearance between the new wheels and the calipers, more than there is with the stock wheels. The wheels cost me $125 ea., but I had to wait a long time for them (they came from England and they had to wait to fill a container or part thereof) because I think ...

Re: Track Wheels and setup?
I have recently installed 15x7 wheels with 45 mm offset for the track. The wheels are made by Team Dynamics in England and distributed in US by TeamdynamicsUSA. They weigh 13.2 lbs (I checked them). For tires, I use 225/50/15 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup R compound front and rear. I removed the plastic ...

Re: Chose your parts wisely . . .(Story Inside)
Logic would say that if you stiffened the car with bracing and it goes slower, then there is something wrong with the suspension setup. Removing the harness bar and rear strut bar made the car softer in terms of chassis twist and you went faster. If the chassis was now twisting more than before and ...

Gentlemen, thank you for the most informative posts. The 182 hp for low bucks and the 198 hp for a little over 3 grand are very interesting. That 198 hp curve is very close to what I was hoping to get, with max power rising steadily in the 7000-8000 RPM band and pretty constant out to 8500 RPM. This...

For a few dyno curves on Integras, you can check out the two following sites: http://www.dynocenter.com/home.html and the 1.8 Litre section of the dyno charts section at http://www.importreview.com/main.html However if you aspire to truly aspirate some serious quantities of air for some scary hp num...

Trey, this sounds like a fun project. Have you decided if you are going to get the best maps for each with the same ignition and cam timing for an equal comparison, or are you just going to see which tuner gets the best at whatever timing works for him? With regards to the area under the curve issue...

With regards to the Realtime ITR's, P.D. Cunningham offered to sell me one of their cars last year at Mosport for $35,000. He had brought it to the track to show it and sell it. It had a fresh coat of white paint covering the orange colors and decals were removed. I didn't ask about the mileage, but...

George, I have seen your engine dyno curve and it looks very good. Could you take a few moments to list the mods with price for each. Also how much time on dyno and how much did that cost. The reason I was impressed with the Toda numbers is that 205 hp is almost 15 hp above even your very respectabl...

Toda modified 205 whp ITR engine - What do you think?
I have seen many dyno curves for ITR normally aspirated engines, but few have over 200 whp. I have been curious about the project ITR car that Toda describes on their web site, which has 205 whp, quite a lot. You can see it at their site http://www.todaracing.com/topics/project_cars/itr.html. The mo...

Aj, the rear ITR bar from Jay is $249 (used to be $229 but price had to go up). Reason for mount to shock body is Jay thought existing mount to pressed steel arm was a bit flimsy if one increased the roll rate. I don't know if it only fits the Advance Design coil-overs, but they are currently out of...

After speaking with both Greg at Teinusa and Jay Morris at Ground Control, I decided that the person who knows the most about shocks should get my money, so I ordered a set of Jay's Advance Design aluminum coil-overs, $399 ea. plus $55 ea. for springs. Jay said I did not need new upper spring mounts...

If you are interested in coil-overs with separately adjustable bump and rebound, there are two sets which are available below $2000 for the set. One is the Tein RS, and the other the Advance Design coil-over. I spoke to Greg at Tein USA and he said the Tein RS could be revalved/rebuilt in US for $16...

Thanks, I appreciate the info. I think I will also call your contact at Koni since they obviously know a great deal about shocks. One of the problems with single adjustables is that you don't actually know if they are set right for your car. For example, since many ITR users seem to put springs with...
