I'm sure I adjusted them correctly. I checked and re-checked each valve clearance with a gauge feeler. I'll give your other two suggestions a try. Thanks.

Okay, my check engine light came back on. It didn’t fix the problem. However, I hooked up an OBDII reader and got the following code: P0172 System too Rich (Bank 1). As for CEL codes I got 1 (02 sensor) & 45 (too rich again). I’m going to replace the O2 sensor and see what happens, but I need he...

Okay, the good news is code 45 isn't coming back, but now I'm getting code 1 for the O2 sensor. I noticed my car hesitated a few times while driving before the check engine light came on. Fortunately, it's only flashing code 1. So I'm going to replace the O2 sensor and see if that finishes it once a...

It works! I readjusted the second time (took me all day today), but it starts and sounds pretty good. I reset the ECU and let it run without any loads for 10 min. After that I took it on a short test drive and accelerated at full throttle. Sounds great! So far no check engine light! I hope this fixe...

Just to make sure, what is the stock valve clearance supposed to be? My manual says .003-.005 in (.08-.12mm) for intake and .006-.008 in (.16-.20mm) for exhaust. I'm asking because apparently I wasn't sensitive enough and now my car won't start. It just turns the camshaft, so I'm trying the adjustme...

Sorry about the confusion. I have an OBD2 ECU in the car, and two additional unmarked integra ECUs lying around. The current ECU in the car was put in by Honda because the old one was stolen. Anyways, if the problem is my O2 sensor, wouldn't I get an engine code for that as well? I'll try to get mor...

Sorry, I only check this forum monthly now. I'm letting it go for $15,000. I don't really want to sell it, but I could use the money and am looking into getting a truck. It's been a great car, but I'm tired of worrying about it wherever I park it! http://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/car/307735388.html

Help: Engine Code 45

My 2001 ITR is throwing code 45 (System Too Lean or Too Rich malfunction in the fuel monitoring systems). I've had this code for a while and have tried several things that did not fix it. I have new plugs (Bosch +4 platinum), distributor, and OEM O2 sensor. My ECU is not stock (I have like 3). I'm g...

Oxygen Sensor Question

My car is throwing the ol' engine code 1 at me. Something is wrong with my O2 sensor... again. I just replaced little more than a year ago too. I'm looking at buying a new one and installing it. I'm thinking Denso or an NGK, but I noticed there were part listings for a front and a rear. What does th...

Plugs and Wires

Simple question. I'm running the Bosch Platinum +4 plugs with the stock wires. I need to get new wires. Does it matter what I get?

I know it's a little late to post in this forum, but I think I've seen your car on the Bangor Subase. Just wondering... Too bad I'm selling mine, but my interests have changed (I just got out of the Navy). :)

ITR JDM HID install (help please)

Does anyone know where I can get directions on how to install the JDM single piece HIDs on a '01 ITR? More specifically, my yellow fog lights don't work and I can't figure out why. The HID side works fine, but I'm having trouble figuring the fog lights out. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Re: Spoon or JDM Engine?

Thank you for straightening me out. I'm not familiar with Honda engines. If it really is pointless to swap out the engine I won't do it. I bought my ITR earlier this year, but haven't had time to modify it due to my job (I'm in the Navy, been out to sea on a submarine :( ) I just have the JDM conver...

Spoon or JDM Engine?

I have a few questions regarding engines. First off, I'm thinking about replacing my USDM 2001 ITR B18C5 with either a JDM ITR's or a Spoon engine. I don't know a whole lot about the motors other than they give higher performance than the USDM B18C5. I have the money to spend and I want the best eng...

I feel pretty lucky as of yet, although I live on a naval submarine base so my car has little chance of being stolen. When I move to CA though I'm gonna get something better than the factory alarm. Sorry about your loss, it's just not that easy to replace an R. I get people looking at mine all the t...

I'm not sure really. I bought the car with it. The previous owner put on the JDM kit direct from Japan, and that's about all I know.

Ahh... the man knows physics! I won't go higher than 16" then. I just raced this civic today and he beat me by a car length, although he had a slight head start. I still think he would have beaten me anyways, but it was close. Now I'm a little more concerned with speed. 8)
