1998 Type R in mint condition (<29K miles)
I am new to the forum and have decided to let my car go to a new home. It's a '98 with less than 29K miles on it. Never been in an accident, color is championshipwhite. Went on Kelley Blue Book to determine value of the car, but the Type R's weren't an option. Can someone let me know what a decent going rate for this will be? Thanks!

Perhaps I read this incorrectly... didn't he say it was NOT in an accident?D999SS wrote: How bad was the accident?
OP, it's probably only worth like $5,000, so I'll be nice and give you double that for it. You're ripping me off, but I'll take the hit for another new member.
Seriously, though, that car is worth at least $15K if it is in the condition I would expect a sub-30K mile car to be in.

Wow! Such low mileage!! Pictures will definitely help determine a value. Just be sure to blur the plates first for security reasons.
I assume you are the original owner?
Is she stock or modified?
What is the badge # on the armrest?
In which state are you located?
Do you have all service records?
Do you have the original window sticker?
Any spare parts or extras that come with the caR?
Can't wait for more details and pics
Welcome to ITRCA.
BTW, that NADA value is BS. This should definitely be a $15k+ caR depending on condition.

BTW, I'm not a "he". Yes, some girls enjoy speed.
I'm in N. Cal and will try to post some pics this weekend. Thanks everyone for your help! I was going to consider putting my baby up on eBay, but wanted to make sure it goes to a good home and not some random idiot.

Let's see some pics! You'll definitely want to get some pics up and a bunch of specific info. Don't fall for any D-bags trying to straight up buy it before you post anything. From the sound of it, it sounds like it is worth more than you think. GLWS

Re: 1998 Type R in mint condition (<29K miles)
Ok, here are some details to tie everyone over until I get pics taken this weekend.
Modifications that were made:
1. changed shift knob so it's the carbon fiber-look one from Acura
2. had A/C installed (it wasn't standard on this model, but I assume everyone on here knows that)
3. had a Pioneer stereo installed (nothing fancy - just wanted to be able to plug my MP3 player in)
4. replaced the emblem on the rear (some jerk stole it so I went back to Acura to get the original part) (there's a small scratch near the logo b/c the idiot used a tool to steal it).
I also have a mask for the front (official Type-R one) and also car cover (direct from mfgr and made especially for this car). I also have the brochure for the car (decent shape) and may have the window sticker (will have to hunt for it).
Stayed tuned for pics this weekend and thanks for everyone's help!

I would say, barring pics of the car it's easily in the 18k market. Low mileage 98's fetch good coin.

This NADA value is ABSOLUTELY not accurate for this car. Don't even consider it. The value is much much higher. (maybe bigcat was joking???)

Re: 1998 Type R in mint condition (<29K miles)
Assuming it's in as-described condition, due to mileage, original parts (minor mods), no accidents, etc. this should be a 15k+ car easily.
Low mileage cars are hard to find, especially mostly stock clean ones.. if you need help hosting/posting the pics let us know.
IMO Unless you need the money, or are just sick of the car, keep that one.

Welcome to ITRCA, sorry you have to part with it. Definitely don't settle for too low as it is a difficult time to sell right now. I've seen people hold out for a year or two and get what they deserve for it. Good luck with the sale.

HOLY HANA! Nice clean 98 R. If you have to sell it, listen to these guy's advice, it's worth more than $15k. That is also what I believe as well.
