What would YOU like to see this place become or changed here

Anything goes? Well, if you keep it clean and aren't obnoxious.

Regardless, lets call this how it is. We (ITR owners) want a forum that 1) we can rule , 2) that we or somebody can control who can access it, 3) and has no GK around. This site or something simular should fit the bill. It is up to us to buy into it and somebody dedicated to manage the site.

I know that this starts getting into waters that maybe ITRCA/Expo may not want to go, but has there been any REAL discussion on collecting a membership due to help with the costs (down payment) for future Expos?
We'll figure it out. :)

For now, I might do some housekeeping time permitting around here this weekend. It needs some updating.

I'm very familiar with logging off issue John was talking about. About a year ago I had problems with constantly getting logged off. It was extremely annoying and did a play a factor in the amount of time I spent on this site.

I think there are way too many subforums. Maybe some of them could be combined or archived?

That's what I was thinking. Granted I get why the organization thread is around but even tkh would have maybe 3 topics a day, if that, you could stuff everything into one (besides the classifieds)

There are too many subforums, yes. The layout is VERY old, but we can update it and later change the forum software if that route works out.

I agree, too many subforums. IMO:
combine all regional forums into 1 (meets or whatever),
Classifieds
And General/Tech/Off topic/tuning/everything else rolled into The Type R forum.

If it ever gets busy like HT was back in the day, when your new post would end up on page 2 in 10 minutes, then add back a RR/AX forum or whatever, but i doubt that'd happen.

This site will always be available to all users (including GK). He just won't have any power here :P

And we decided awhile ago not to collect dues. It's just not worth the headache on the business site (ITRCA, LLC is a for-profit corporation that makes no profit because the paperwork is easier for the "legal team" (aka Jim) than a NFP corp would be). Taking in $$, as in membership fees in exchange for goods = a lot more paperwork.

If we can keep getting good sponsorship (Like Honda/Acura) then it's not a huge issue anyways to get the track downpayment. Honestly the biggest problem with planning expo these days is time. Nobody has any. :)

How about something like this:
-ITR Expo XX Discussion
-ITR Forum (whatever it'll be called, description: General Discussion, Tuning, Modifications, etc)
-Competition (description: HPDE, W2W, Autocross, Rally/Rally-X, Drag racing, etc)
-Classifieds stays the same (IMO it's nice to have parts and cars seperated, although we could make Cars a sub category under parts since parts is probably the more utilized)
-Off-Topic (Non-ITR specific discussions)
-Events and Meets
-Mod Forum (Descripton: Bitch about D and his good buddy GK in private)

LOL at last one. Those sound good to me No need for much else just yet. I like the cars classifieds being within the main classifieds also.

Consolidated Archive type forums also, and hid them to admins only. If you need something from one of those forums (previous expo forums, etc) just let an admin know.

Also, the Events and Meets and this (Off-Topic) subforums are completely hidden from guests.. do you guys want them to be read-only for guests instead of no access? Could make people join and post if they can see something they want to discuss?

Also made captcha a little more difficult to read, might help with some of the spam stuff.

Forum software updated to the latest release. If you notice any issues, let me know.

Quick replies are enabled everywhere now.

Also changed captcha again to 3d, it's more readable, but hopefully harder for spam bots.. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Personally I think the style needs an update, but I'd suck at doing that. Anyone have some spare time? :)

Dave, I am posting this here to see if any of the techies have any input.

I am thinking my logging off issue is an AOL thing. The last 2 days I have been accessing this site using IE instead and have had ZERO problems.

No setting for that, but it can be modified for it. I'll work on it tonight if I have time.
