I wear this knife every single day for the past 4 years and is used no less than twice per day, for the money it can NOT be beat.

I don't mind the clip on the heel... i do like the safety lock on the SOG though, I primarily keep that blade with me when rock climbing/etc. on a small biner and locked safe.

For all of you IT guys I hope none of you use McAfee, if so DO NOT push out the new 5958 DAT file. It's picking up svchost as a virus and all machines affected will constantly reboot, I know it's fucked a lot of people. Cisco being one of them.

If I could save one person from headaches then this post was worth it, I know there are a lot of IT dweebs here.

I have a problem with a svchost file running constantly at ~50% cpu usage. Have to end task it everytime I fire up the pc. I need to reformat and start over..

Joe: Figure out which service is causing the problem and fix it, or disable it since it's not needed it seems (since you don't notice issues after terminating it)

Not sure how to do that. I just see numerous scvhost files being used and one is always using 50%. Not sure what program is loading that.

Yeah, I don't notice anything wrong after ending it.

After you kill the process, go check out which services are set to Automatic startup, but aren't running.

You can get to the services list by going to the control panel->administrative tools->services. Inside that you'll see the columns Name, Description, Status, Startup Type and Log On As. Click on the column header Startup Type and it'll sort by the startup type. Look for any with a startup type of Automatic and with a status of blank/nothing. It's perfectly normal for some services to be in that state, but one of them should be the one you are killing. You can double click on each one and disable it (change startup type from auto to disabled) and reboot until you no longer notice the issue. Now it could be a Manual startup type as well, in which case this process is far more of a pain in the ass. However, you can set task manager to add the PID (process ID) column to the processes list, once you have that there are tools that will let you figure out what files that process id is using, and you can track it down that way instead.

Dave_B wrote:Joe, you know of any good places to get say, Gerber pocket knifes? Went camping this past weekend and felt neked without one.
My thought process on this is buy a knife that can be used and abused and replaced. Getting an expensive knife just doesnt make sense to me, I paid 30 for my gerber and I feel comfy cutting anything with it. If it gets ruined....I buy a new one. Still been going strong since xmas and I am pretty rough on knives, seatbelts, battery cables, picking locks and prying.

That's crazy, but kind of cool I guess. I don't get why though. Plus it will have lost all the wonderful feel of the EG/DC. WRXs are awful to drive. :?
