front lower control arm issue. hardrace.

Post by Erik95LS »

So I got my car all back together yesterday after replacing the balljoints and finally installing the hardrace front LCAs. Now I expected the car to sit a bit higher in the front due to the bushings being centered and not grossly deformed like the ones I pulled out and expected this to change my alignment (though very slightly). Well I got the car back on the ground and everything looked normal. Went to test drive it and my toe is way way off and I have to add about 15-20deg of right steering to keep the car straight and front end feels loose as hell. I just now too a peek under it and this is what I found

Driverside. Notice the angle of the LCA balljoint and base of knuckle. This side looks normal

passenger side. This does not look at all right and the nut is almost touching the rotor. Does it look like the LCA is bent upwards at the end to anyone? I really hope that's not the case.

I'll actually check it tomorrow, but thought I'd see what you guys think from these pictures

yeah me neither, but I'll check it out tomorrow and figure out exactly what is going on. Obviously this would cause a good amount of toe in and a good deal less negative camber on that side which of course makes sense given how the car felt. I just hope if I have to return them Jeff will be a little easier to deal with than when I bought them.

Do you still have your original LCA kicking around to compare shapes?

Turns out that one is bent. Replacements are on the way.
