1.) Oil burns at a rate of at least a half litre of oil per tank. - smokes when revving past 6000 rpm.
2.) Very annoying loud metallic creak from behind the dashboard area when the chassis twists over bumps in the road
3.) Power antenna motor is worn out making very loud noise when going up or down
4.) Rattles from muffler and heat shields on exhaust
5.) Front Wheel Bearings and ball joints due for replacing
Oil burning is pretty normal, although my 97 doesn't burn a drop. PO reported it burned 1 qt every 3,000 miles, in the 5k I've driven it, it hasn't loss a drop since I changed the engine oil drain plug crush washer.
Haven't had the creak in any of my Integras yet, even my beat to hell GS-R, but maybe it's so loud from the other rattles that I can't hear it
Power Ant. motors suck on these cars, my GS-R has been broken since 2002. ITR one still works though, likely because the PO installed a switch and turned it off unless using the radio. I've found that they die after extended high speed driving on the highway with them up.
ITR has the heat sheild rattles, GS-R heatshields removed in 2001 so they never really got to the point of rattling
Wheel bearings, ball joints, etc are def wear items.
So far, for actual failures on my GS-R (haven't had any on my 97 ITR during my short ownership so far):
-Radiator (common issue, seal on the plastic end tanks fail - ITR has a replacement radiator so it likely had this problem with a PO)
-Clutch master cylinder
-Brake master cylinder
-Power Antenna
That's with a LOT of track miles and serious abuse. All preventative maintenance is done though (clutch replacements, timing belts, water pumps, other belts, etc).
