All about... BEER!!!
Re: All about... BEER!!!
I've been tempted to try this Banana bread you speak of. Have found it locally, but not sure I really want a banana beer. LOL.

Yuengling is my primary.Dave_B wrote:Oh steezy... Have a real mans beer.
Cheap, fall back beer = New Castle, Yuengling or Fat tire. lulz.
However I did have this local brew out of Raleigh the other day at work, was definitely stoked on it.

I hang out at hipster bars, so it works for me.itrsteez wrote:Who are you to judge, so what if I like the crisp taste of PBR, the smooth aroma of Parliament Lights and listening to bands that you've probably never heard ofErik95LS wrote:it's unfortunate that PBR has become the official beer of hipsters. But no really, they love that shit... which sucks because it's always a nice/cheap fallback beer.
Had this Saturday night:
I've only had it on tap, so this was the first time I had it in a bottle and I was not pleased. I was at a comedy club though, and they have nothing on tap.

Meh, I don't like the fruity beers. Abita does make Turbodog which IMO is pretty good.

I think that the purple haze on tap smells like stinky shoes.
Last night I had:
Widmear Prickly Pear Broggot (way to sweet)
Lagunitas Censored
Lost Coast Alley Cat Amber
3 red monk shots.
I signed up for a Loyalty card at WOB, so now I can track all the beers I drink there.

This turned out to be AWESOME! I really want to try some of their others, especially Tactical Nuclear Penguin. Anyone want to split one 5-ish ways? $70 12oz bottle.

I like fruity beers. I'm not so big on most of the beers you guys drink, although I have tried a good many of them thanks to my friend who is into beers like you guys.

Re: All about... BEER!!!
Help me choose my Friday beer (going to try this weekly, as it's my day to pick up beer on my way home and try something new)
This week, pilsner, lager or ale.
Anchor Brewing - Anchor Steam
Atlantra Brewing - Laughing Skull or Red Brick Ale
Breckenridge Brewery - Avalanche Amber Ale
Flying Dog - Old Scratch Amber
New Belgium - 1554 Enlightened Black Ale
New South Brewing - New South Nut Brown Ale
Smuttynose Brewing Company - Old Brown Dog
Thomas Creek Brewery - River Falls Red ale
Or any other suggestions out there. Would love to hear of some new Pilsners I have yet to try, but english browns and others will work for me.

I'm open to others as well. Was looking at a list of the last beer fest that happened here in G'vegas.

the beer gods wrote:Moylan’s Ryan Sullivan’s Imperial Stout is black as a moonless night. A rich mocha head stays thick throughout and the malty aroma is very inviting. This beer gets its rich complex flavour from a total of nine different malts and has enormous flavors: roasted sweet malt base, touch of vanilla, espresso, fig and hint of cocoa in the finish.
True to it's imperial stout roots, Ryan Sullivan's weighs in at 10 percent alcohol by volume.

You will have to report back on the Stout. Is it hoppy by Imperial Stout standards?
I'm trying to go back to "lighter" beers than stouts and porters... your not helping sir...
<--- who may stay with high gravity and get some barleywine this evening.

Interesting. May have to look for that. Place I go doesn't have much DFH though. I would LOVE to find another Santo Paulo.Erik95LS wrote:there was an interesting Dogfish Head that caught my eye, but didn't get it. http://www.dogfish.com/brews-spirits/th ... angaea.htm
Re: All about... BEER!!!
Well, as luck would have it or faith or whatever you want to call it, have not seen it since I got here to SC, and the first thing I see is Santo Paulo. I'll take that, now catching up on F1, Monoco.
It shall be a good night.
