hey i just found a 2001 canadian version integra type R. From the pictures, they looked like a real type R, and the vin also checks out. But wat really bugged me was the fact that the car had leather seats. Did canadian versions of type R's ever have the option of leather seats? Thanks a lot.

No the Canadian version never had leather seats uless someone put them in . Check if it has a sunroof maybe someone made a GS-R into a Type R that will tell u that it's not a Type R I seen one that was so close to a Type R, painted CW, 5 lugs but the sunroof gave it away it was from Vancouver area.

i also took that into consideration.....there isnt a sun roof....but for some reason the leather seats just bother me..why would u want to trade racing bucket seats for leather seats????? it just doesnt make sense......

I hear u look if it has a b18c5 stamped on the engine and check if it has cruise conrol it shouldn't Maybe the owner liked leather and traded someone.

I think sunroof is a "special" dealer option, cuz my friends R has a dealer installed sunroof

so u check the vin number on the car what is the vin # , run a check with the rcmp or what ever policing departement at ur city then if its been stolen they prob took the vin number of another type R and stick it on urs.
i pretty sure all ITR start with JH4DC231 then the last couple of numbers if its 800... its canada if its 000.... its u.s DC 238 is the model for gsr.

I have a sunroof on my Type R, i love people who know their shit and say it's a fake type R right away as they should, but then they get to find out their car is slower than my "fake" type R hehe.. i have sparco seats and no back seats for my harness with enuff mods to make it look like a cheap car made good, but it was a good car made better hehe... so getting as unroof is another type of sacrifice if you got no air conditionning like me on hot summer days

Man you took the words out of my mouth literally....allz I gotsa say is WERD!!

I thought I was the only guy in Canada with the sunroof haha but I guess I'm wrong, well I guess I'm the only guy in the GTA with a sunroof on my R. I have 1999 CW Type-R with leathers and a sunroof. The leathers are actually R seats wrapped in leather and the sunroof is a dealer installed option. It was done when I bought the car. Plus I have no A/C and the sunroof is a God given option!!

But yeah, I love it when people say "Fake R" but when the "Fake R" beats their ass dry, they're facial expression is hahahahaha!!
