Furthermore, I had them on the black R, on the street for 20k miles or so without issues or slipping as well.
cool. I wasn't knocking you for not driving the car, but just pointing out that in some cases it has taken awhile and a good bit of hard use, but they still did slip. Jay, that's quite rare for yours to go so long with no issues. Guess you were lucky
Yeah, and they were on the crap roads of Chicago too, so they took a beating. Who knows, maybe the salt seized them up! I actually pb blasted them twice a year as well as anti-seized the crap out of them installing. I roughed them up a bit before installing, used some star washers too I think. They were great, honestly.
I'm curious if Nathaniel has them on still, and if so, have they slipped with him yet.
Maybe it's because I ran stock suspension? I know Lance had the older version of the arms, and last I checked, he was ok. He was on stock for a long time.
They are still on the car! they seem to be rusted up pretty well, so I just left them alone and have fiddeled with em yet lol... I have had the car aligned after I the Koni/GC setup on. I couldnt tell you if it has slipped at all, I do not have the wisdom to tell one way or the other.
If you ever ran the car on R comps even with the stock suspension, then I assume it would have slipped then, I am just running from Z1 stars... from what I have heard you were pretty quik in that car
I have a set on my h/b, I run R-comps, and the car gets driven pretty hard. They have yet to slip on me, even when hitting curbing (which shortened the life of a tie rod) and a few offroad excursions (R-comps with no tread does not like the rain too much ) I am also not the only one out here that runs the Skunk2 units, Old man Phil out here runs them too and this guy drives the shit out of his car, runs a 15x9 with 225 R-comps (both Nittos and Hoosiers), and he too has done some offroading in that car, and his has never slipped on him either.
^Phil does drive his car hard, he is damn fast in that thing lol... I liked his 5-min. of fame in SS this month..
Ohh and you can have the chance to try and get mine to slip in 3 weeks
cheezthis wrote:Never really ran r-comps on track with that car actually, wasn't given the chance...stars never aligned so to speak, ha. That car's track miles are probably 90% Azenis when I had it. You can get quick on those tires if you nurse them right, do not overdrive, and make the most of laps 2 and 3. After that, time to ease off as they will heat up a bit too much...and in my case, turn blue.
Ahh I see. I dont plan on running R-Comps ANY time soon lol so this is great info
And I think I dont have to worry about the S2 units slipping, there is far to much rust for that to happen
sorry I have not had time to pull mine out that I was going to give you.....
Who knew a baby was going to take up so much of my time
Hope you and the family are doing well....
We are doing well... I had a nice fathers day yesterday (happy 1st fathers day to you!).
I (Jack) ordered 4 lower control arm bushings (Hard Race). Also picked up a pair of used ITR compliance bushings (from Ewak... and I still need to pay).
Baby = your free time is now spent on something else.

I searched around under the fridge, shelves, car, wheels, but in reality the garage is such a mess. Keep in mind I just moved in here and the garage was a mess long before me so...yeah.
Carbomb party is off (Jen has finals that next week and Steve can't skate), but Friday night at the shop is a go and Saturday we will hit The Penguin then the pool and/or lake.

:belch:
not sure if I'm catching your "can't skate" reference. Although it's probably accurate.
as soon as I can drive again I'll be coming out your way, (which I'm hoping will be in August), also picked up a PFC yesterday for your tuning preference.
