is it realy necessary to lower your compression when running with a turbo? if you keep it at low boost? and if it is how do you know when too much is too much? plez let me know.

You can run low boost with stock comperssion and be OK. Feul is going to be your mean thing when running high compression. I would say to say around 5 psi to be safe but there's people on here running 7 and 8....

Stock (10.6 to 1) compression - 9.8 psi at 9000 rpm on the dragstrip, 8.5 on the street. 27000 miles and keeps on tickin'.

Octane, timing and tuning has a lot to do with how long a high compression motor will last on boost. I run 94octane in mine since day one. When it detonates, it's too much!!

I agree with Erik, fuel, fuel, fuel (in the proper ratio ofcourse)
