I almost took a major spill last night at the top of the stairs, luckily I was able to fall backwards crashing into a baby gate. Meanwhile my crutches and macbook pro are tumbling down the stairs, denting the steps the whole way down. I bent the frame on my MBP a little bit and now you have to force it to close, probably one of the lower points of this ordeal.
I'm probably going to sign up for dancing with the stars

Dude, you should just strap a go pro to your forehead and document your recovery.

I dropped my ibook when I first got it, and i took it in and they asked if I dropped it gave them the "I don't know" and they replaced the screen free of charge.
If you still have warranty doesn't hurt to try and take it in.
oh it still works, it's one of the previous generation ones with the magnesium frames. So strong it dents every step of your hardwood stairs, really excited about that.
but it does work though, just has to be forced to be shut now. I was about to purchase a new one soon anyway.
It sounds like your MBP is a piece of crap now that it won't shut and it's good that you are getting a new one. If you want someone to dispose of that POS MBP you have now, I'll gladly take care of that for you free of charge.

It's "business equipment", so it's more of a hassle to dispose of it and then pay taxes on the depreciated value or I would sell it. I'm just going to let turd have it. I am impressed the HD didn't crap out.
