air entry for the stock intake

Post by Tommy Boy »

I still have the stock intake.
Where is the initial entry of air into the stock air box? I followed the tube down and can't, for the life of me, see where the hell the air is getting into the tube before the air box. Is it grabbing it from the fender; I can't see it.
I read some literature on the ITR, some time ago, that says in stock form there is a bit of a ram air effect; that is, at least the engine is getting its air from a high pressure area.
Well, I can't see where that is!

If you still have the resonator, it's pulling from the lower part of the bumper. If you do not have the resonator, it's pulling from the bottom of the air box itself.

Where is this resonator and what does it look like?
I haven't changed anything since I took delivery of the car, so that must mean I still have the resonator?

Here's what the rest of the stock air box looks like. Hope this helps...
