This is farrrrrrrrrr from done, I only had an hour or so to play last night to get the backend stuff up. I figured if I put up an "under construction" page it would never get finished so we'll just have the half-assed shit up there and try to improve upon. Still have a lot of kinks and stuff to sort out, but I want it so all of us can throw up blog posts and shit on there (i.e. even postings, random pictures of food, things exploding on youtube, etc)

If there's stuff that you think would be a nice addition by all means let me know.

Anything that you see up there is technically a blog post. Like the video I posted. The idea would to make all of the regulars an editor. You can submit blog posts through an web-based control panel or through a mobile device... I know the iPhone wordpress app is great and there is a Andriod app for wordpress as well (http://android.wordpress.org/)

I figure with all of the shit I see on facebook on a daily basis if everybody posted up 1/4 of the fodder that goes to there we could have a nice centralized source of entertainment.

Maybe track day count downs? Count down for expo is a given, but a WTDR event, or another major event that you guys are doing?

Maybe setup a webcam at events (even just a cheap one) and have a live feed at track.

About section, would this cover the origins of WTDR? Maybe past events such as WTDR 1?

Keep them coming man! Most of the stuff you suggested we can have as separate categories, so then when you make a post just make sure it falls under that category (i.e. builds, beer of the month, etc) and everything will be sorted out.

I love the countdown idea, will definitely look into that.

Would love if somebody did a write up for the "about" section on the WTDR history, I'm not qualified to do that one.

As far as annonymous commenting that leaves you open to tons of spam unless you use image recognition for every post (which is annoying), my logic is to secure the registrations and the commenting will be clean from there on out.

Agree'd on the spam, that makes sense. But how do we then control login? Does the site admin explicitly allow the users access?

Yeah I was going to see if one of them could chime in for a writeup, even email it to me and I'll handle the rest.

All users will be readers and be able to comment, those that should be contributors to the site will manually be moved into the appropriate security group.

A full blog post itself will be done by anybody that is deemed an editor, but yes commenting would be wide open to all registered users.

I don't necessarily hate this layout but I don't like how I didn't write it from the ground up so I have to pick around and screw with peoples shit to get something that works. It's not too far off from how I would have liked it though. Almost seems counter productive to put too much time into making a we-todd site pretty.
