Mugen brake/wheel clearance questions

Post by Little_Nolan »

Does anyone know what 15" wheels will clear S2K calipers/rotors?... this is essentially the active-gate setup with out the fancy pantsy rotors. More spec. will rega's/sw's clear the brakes with or with-out spacers?

The brakes are 13.8" diameter overall

Thanks for any help,

Nate

My best guess is it will with wheel design, similar to the Spoon setup.

I think it has the most to do with the inner diameter of the wheel and then offset I guess, I am a total tard when it comes to this stuff.

What do you mean by wheel design?

The spoke design is often a large contributing factor to clearance.

Well if its the same size as the Spoon clappers, it won't fit without spacers. My buddy with 01-0288 has 5mm spacers that he used when he had the Spoons on his car. I can probably get them from him since he doesn't need them with stock wheels.

What is the stock ITR size, including caliper? When you say 13.8" overall, I assume you're including the caliper. How wide are the wheels?

Chris, I dont think I am going to run the S2K brakes. After talking with Nolan last night he riminded me that the offest of the caliper is different on the R so I dont think it will work.

Yeah I was referring to the overall width including caliper. I have these brakes on the Gizr and figured I may just be able to throw them on the R.
