What radiator to run?
I'm getting a custome AC line ran off my compressor so that I can run a full size radiator again on the R. I still have my stock Radiator and planned on running (2) Spal 13" HP fans so that I could fit everything in and between the turbo manifold.
Does anyone have any suggestions for any other radiator or is OEM the way to go? I was reading into Koyo's as well, but saw a few people had problems with them.
Thanks

Re: What radiator to run?
i got the whole nine in my R....
AC/PS and a full KOYO.
looking at my buddies stock R, i think you could come very close to running both stock fans and radiator with my setup.

I'v never heard of anyone have issues with Koyo...
Fluydine, Griffin, Koyo, Mishimoto, there are several options available.
PS- Long time, I hope all is well.

Re: What radiator to run?
i have heard of issues with koyo's. with the cap mating surfaces. makes like the cap not holding pressure, causing a overheating issue in some cars.

Yea there is a little bit of a difference between your setup w/ a log manifold and my build with the Full Race Ramhorn haha. I definitely will not be able to fit a Koyo radiator in there..way too thick. I'm just going to clean up my stock one and put that one back in with some Spal 13" HP slim fans.

I've never had single issue with my Griffin. Awesome quality and craftsmanship. They are a bit pricey however.

Re: What radiator to run?
Thanks for looking out guys. I might choose the route of saving money and just putting the stock radiator back in and just removing the stock fans and shroud and running the Spal slim fans. If that doesn't work out then I'll try other methods. Still got a few months before any tracking starts back up!

Re: What radiator to run?
I never had a single problem with my OEM unit. Never overheated at the track; in fact, I was always below the half way point on the stock Temp gauge. I upgraded to a Koyo for shits'n'giggles when I rebuilt my engine but only for the bling factor.
I would seriously consider sticking with the OEM for now if you are having clearance issues with you A/C and turbo set-up.

Re: What radiator to run?
The only reason I ask is because most OEM units fail around the 100k mark.totsie7944 wrote:About 75,000??

Re: What radiator to run?
I had to replace my OEM rad back in June... ended up getting a great price on the Mishimoto rad and havn't had a single problem with it yet. Plus, there is a 1 or 2 year no questions asked warranty that it came with - the guy at the shop I bought it said even if you are on track and a rock flys through the rad they will replace it.

Re: What radiator to run?
OEM unless you have temp problems. Mine did fail around 90k, but I just put another OEM in there. Worked well enough and I don't care about money for replacement parts for some reason.
