I did my SCCA license school there in '95. It was the weekend after the classic 24 Hours of Nelson Ledges. They hadn't even swept the track! She is ugly as snot, the main event we're building it for is a 25 hour enduro at Nelson Ledges which I know has a place in your heart. Is it that bad? From all of the videos I've watched it looks like the worst road course in the united states, which is why it is so appealing to us.
There are plenty of stories about cars disappearing when they go way off track. A motorcycle was found about 15 years after it disappeared during a race. They were draining the swamp. They contacted the owner and he got it back!
The track is actually a fun configuration, but built on a swamp, so the track breaks up all of the time and it's poorly maintained. It used to be you had to bring your own toilet paper.
