Manifold Choice????

Post by Voodoo Child »

Hey guys,

I am in the process of peicing together a custom turbo kit and as such I went out and bought a Full-Race equal lenght manifold. Unfortunately I did not know at the time that I would have to lose my A/C and P/S.
As such I need a new manifold that can accomodate both.

Right now I have narrowed my choises to the SPF "street" manifold
or the inlinepro manifold.

What are your suggestions & comments?

All help is appreciated.

Nate

Ps- If anybody would like purchase my Full-Race manifold I will sell it for well under what I paid for it! ($1100)

inline pro would be my first choice and rev hard would be my second. both are pretty cheap and very good quality. SFP is a great manifold but a bit more money and honestly I have never bought anything from them before so I can't tell you what customer service is like (I have heard they have very good customer service). I have bought from inline pro and had a few friends buy from rev hard. very good stuff and like I said the price is right

PS- I do know SFP has a 10 second civic with AC and PS though so I would say their stuff is pretty damn good too

manifold

Choosing a manifold depends on your needs and what you are willing to compromise. RevHard makes an excellent ductile iron cast manifold that will not crack. All tubulars are prone to cracking eventually, one of the keys to keeping your manifold and turbine housing from cracking is to support the downpipe at the flex-joint at the stock fulcrum point. This way when you drag-launch the car, all of the force is not put on the manifold and turbo, ofcourse if you race with an open downpipe it's not that huge of an issue.

Well my current goal is to be close to 300whp.

I have the following:
Garrett T3/T4 .63/.6 60 trim
Full-race style manifold
tial 38mm wastegate
3" downpipe
30" custom intercooler
2.5" Charge pipes from turbo to throttle body.
-4 earls feed lines -10 earls/aeroquip return
Aeroquip bunnged oil pan
Hondata 3B w OBDII harness and chipped P28
Greddy Turbo Timer
450cc injectors and resistor box
HKS SSQV BOV

As such, what manifold would you recommend?

you won't get 300whp out of 450cc injectors unless you run a very high fuel presure. I would switch to 660cc injectors and any of the above mentioned manifolds will work for your power goals

I'm running the rev-hard mani jet black coated...stock injectors and am maken 254whp....I'l be uping the injectors to 720cc and running a hondata here in less then a month. My goal is 300whp on a stock bottom end. I'll keep you post. Back to the topic I've heard the rev hard is good till about 400whp....thats all I'm looking for in the long run so thats why this mani was the right choice for me. Plus they are cast iorn so will not crack.
