VTEC problems

Post by jinbooson »

my car has about 36,000miles and today while playing with the car my vtec didnt kick in first gear. when i tried 2nd gear it kicked in at 5,7 but lost power at 7,000 then gained power again. it almost sounds like it was having a hard time. has anyone every heard about this or happened to you?

check your ignition or fuel system.
make sure your oil is top up too since vtec relies on your oil pressure.

That's great that it wasn't a more serious problem!! These high reving engines tend to burn a bit more than usual..
