Not sure how synchros that are made to synchronize the gears for shifting would cause it to pop out of gear once it is in. I would guess something more like a bent shift fork. Either way it is most likely internal. No shifting into 2nd problems?

Shift fork problem (bent) would be my guess as well.
I had this same problem and it turned out that my clutch was just completely gone. What happend was it wasnt actualy completly in gear and the torque would pop in out. After the clutc swap it never happend again.
