Got a gsx the other day. Lovin' it!!! Best thing I have ever done. Feels soo strong even in nearly stock form. Anyone ver raced one though, or seen what they do in the track? I know it handles like a beast.

beat a 91 GSX (that's the turbo correct?) in the final bracket race 2 years ago. Both dialed in at the same time so it was a "true" drag. :shock:

my friend has a 98 gsx.......everytime we would race he would take me about 2 cars right out of first gear shifting to second...... that car is no joke....im loving it

the 91's are the 6 bolt motors so it is very strong. they have been known to hit 12's on very few mods

Ive seen a few GSXs around with all the bolt ons or some mods. But they all seem to perform poorly with all the upgrades they all have. This one guy claimed to have everything but upgraded Turbo on his 98 GSX and my buddy with his Bone Stock WRX(Boost Controller @17lbs) raced at the Track. My buddy in the WRX rapped him and ran a 13.5 and the GSX ran a 14.4. So from there I wasn't really impressed with them much! Also alot of them around the KC area breakdown!

Gsx's are about mid to high 14 second cars stock. Many have run 12s on just a turbo upgrade and a few mods.

I own a 95 Talon awd tsi, that I use as my winter beater, I just did a 1st gen 6 bolt swap on it, here's a video of my test drive....

DSM's weak link in the tranny. buy the car spend 2 grand on a shep racing or TRE tranny and it is builtproof. the motors are good to about 550hp on stock internals. on the 14B on the 1G's they can go into high 12's. with a B16G they can hit low 12's high 11's. then you can go with the big boys(GT14, GT30, GT35R, FP3052, FP3065, FPRed, FPGreen, etc) those will push you to low 10's high 9's if tuned well. a local here went 9.4@146mph in his 91 with a FP3065 and no bottle.

i just got challenged by one a couple days ago. guy walked into my work place, and shouted who owns the Type-R out front. (Really dramatic, don'tcha think?).

anyway, i don't think i'll be racing him, since it's an f/i vs. n/a. he says it's bragging rights if he wins. that's bragging rights? his car SHOULD be faster than mine.

funny though, when I told him i'd race him using my other vehicle, he said ok. but then when i showed up the next day at work, he asked where my car was. i pointed to my bike, and now he was the one all b*tching and complaining.
