Block Guard Install in B18C5 Turbo?

Post by blumeany »

Okay Guys

I am planning on going turbo next month and would like to get some info on installing a block guard for my setup. My motor has stock internals and I would like to run 10 lbs of boost. I plan on installing an Inlinepro Head Gasket to lower compression a little. I've read that a good combination is to use the inlinepro head gasket along with a block guard.

My question is can the block guard be installed while the motor is still in the car. Or should the engine be ripped apart. Cylinders bored or honed, and then install block guard.

Any help would be appreciated.

I installed the same set up on my car. did it with the motor in the car. my suggestion is to not run the AFC hack though if that is your plan. I would go with a fmu, 450cc injectors, afc, missing link and 255lph pump if you are doin anything but stand alone. BTW I run 15psi daily on pump gas

Nice set, that should make the 300 on 10 pretty easy.

I ran a blockguard on my engine before sleeving it and there really isn't a need for installing one IMHO unless you are running more than 1 bar. Yes you can install the blockguard in the car with out pulling the engine.
