Hoosier A3S03 225/45/15
Hoosier A3S03 225/45/15
Will these fit on the front stock 15x6 USDM ITR rims or do you have to move to a 225/50/15 (which are not available on the Hoosier A3S03).

Both the 225/45-15 and the 225/50-15 will fit the ITR 15x6 rims.
I know from experience that the 225 Victo's require a spacer to prevent the tire from rubbing. I'd be willing to bet that the 225's from Hoosier also require the spacers. The spacers that I use are 5mm.
What are you using the 225's for? Most DS cars are running 225's front and 205's rear.
I hope this helps.

There are two different fitment issues here: (1) Can the tires be mounted on wheels of that width? and (2) Will tires that size rub? Other folks seem to be mostly answering question 2.dadios4 wrote:Will these fit on the front stock 15x6 USDM ITR rims or do you have to move to a 225/50/15 (which are not available on the Hoosier A3S03).
To see whether a given tire can be mounted on a given width of wheel, you can check the specs for the tire on the tire manufacturer's website and/or on the Tire Rack website. According to the Tire Rack website, this size is only approved for rim widths of 7 to 9 inches. So the answer is no, the 225/45-15 will not fit on the stock 15x6 rims.
Sounds crazy but it is very true. You CAN fit a 225/45 on a 6 inch rim.
While this is not ideal nor recommended from most tire manufacturers, we know it works and is a must if you expect to be competitive at the National level.
All top DS ITR's run the 225/45 in the front for auto-x. Most without spacers...no issues!

Because if you are running a stock class autocross car, your rim width must be stock. And all of the "fast" guys just stuff as much tire as will fit on that wheel and still fit inside the fender.nsxtasy wrote: (1) Can the tires be mounted n wheels of that width? and (2) Will tires that size rub? Its not optimal, and a wider wheel will be faster, but its still faster than running 205's - although the new Hoosier A3S04 and Kumho 710 are getting very, very weide....

Yep, you can squeeze those 225/45's on stock rims... amazingly enough.
The newer tires, like RJ said, are getting very wide, I dont think you'd be able to use the new Hoosier in particular without a spacer....

Just how much wider is the new R3S04 anyway?Chris N wrote:Yep, you can squeeze those 225/45's on stock rims... amazingly enough.

Has anyone measured and compared yet?
I used to have R3S03's on 7" wide wheels in 225/45/15 and while they did fit with no spacers, they did rub up front and in the rear.
I currently have Ecsta V700's in the same size and they are actually narrower and as a reusult. don't rub as much.
where am I?
