Autocross anyone?

Post by ITR640 »

I'm really suprised at the lack of Type R's at the autocrosses in KC. I have been the only one since the first event of the year and there where still only 4 i think 2 of which raced. It doesnt matter if you have never done it before or if you dont have suspension mods or something my cars completly stock with falkens and I do alright. I just want some competition with my car.

Sorry - there are a couple of us that used to run the autocrosses in KC, but now are dedicated track whores. I ran with the Porsche club at Heartland Park a couple weeks ago we'll be running the race kaa at MAM in a couple weeks. Hopefully, I can pick up with the BMW club at MAM in Omaha in June & then the Expo in July & probably HPT again in ~Sept with the Audi club.

If you haven't run on a road course - come check it out with us. Just watch some bigger faster kaas get the blue flag & have to move over  for the little import...

I'll come out sometime I was going to go with you guys to Heartland Park but I had to work and stuff but I really do want to come out and maybe just watch sometime. I will probably go to SCCA nationals there maybe there will be a race going on or something.

Actually, the SCCA Nationals are fun to watch, but there aren't any 'races' going on then. If you are unfamiliar with the area = the Nationals occur on Forbes Field (airport tarmac) & Heartland Park is physically right beside Forbes Field. Last year the Porsche Club had their fall event the same weekend - guess how I knew

New to this site, i check this from time to time since i aspire to own a Type-r sometime in the next year.

Anyway, 01ITR640, are u the owner of the yellow R that talked to Bob Harsh about a set of wheels? Sorry, i dont have a set for sale, but, IF your interested, I have an offer.....

I drive the #195 red MR2 in E-Stock at all the KC events. We(MR2 drivers) use the all too familiar millenia wheels for our front race tires, this is the cheap and reasonable wheel that most R drivers use in stock class. I actually have four and would be willing to mount them on your car if i could enjoy a co-drive with you at an event. U get to see what a Type R does on race tires and i get to see if the R is what i really want.

I understand if your not interested as we dont know each other, but rest assured, i am VERY nice to cars and as you can see from my results i know what im doing. I will see you tommorrow and im gonna bring all four of my fronts with race tires as you probably wont be reading this before the morning. I'll pitch it to you at the site.

Joe - haven't we met??? Did you used to drive a red SS??? Shoot me an email (jeff@itrca.com) sometime. I haven't seen you at any of the road course events in a looooong time :D

Next time you're in KC - beer is free in my house + I've got tools for any repairs you might need while out of town.

BTW - you can drive my R anytime. I trust your driving ability. **thumbs up**

**BudMan tries to be nice to the icky manhattan purple people

holy cow!!!!! :D I thought you lived in Nebraska? Looooong time, no see.
I havent been to a road event in awhile. Cant keep race tires on the car long enough. I may go to the July 18th heartland HPCCC, but it will be in my MR2. It will be hard to keep up with the high horse cars, but trust me, i'll get em' in the turns.

Thanx for the invite! I wont be making my way back to KC till the end of July. You should come out and enjoy some autocross action. You R should be a blast to run. What all have you done to it? Last time i saw it, you only had the Vtec timer, WOW, that was a long time ago.
