13 second motor ITR

Post by WhiteMike6141 »

I have a 2001 ITR w/ header, intake, and exhaust. I want to go 13.5 or better on the motor and do not know what to buy next. Some people have told me to go with Toda Spec C cams but I am not sure. Give me some advise people.

Thanks
Mike

Many ways of getting into the 13s all motor... I am running Toda C cams, Toda valve springs, REV valves, and so on.. The bottom end is a Hollins Racing block stuff full of nice Edyne Pistons, Eagle Rods, worked over ITR crank and 84mm Sleeves..(Meaning its actually know a 2.0L) But I did have a friend running some CTR pistons with Toda B cams, Tioda header, ect.. and he was running very quick... He was tailing my ass a few times before I got my car running ok.. Only problem more work means more tunning and problems.. I got more tuning isuse then you want to know..
Good Luck..
PS.. Personal the Toda C cams make such strong power top end I can pull and walk on by most turbo cars top end when they should be pulling me...

Thats alot of money to be spending on an engine... in my experience u dont actually need all those bits. i have an itr running 13.7@168km.
my parts list consists of...
98spec headers,
mandrel bent 2.5 exhaust with N1 tip
cold air intake
tein flew coilovers
Apexi Vafc2
msd leads, distributor cap, coil, SCI and iridium plugs.

then slightly stripping the interior and semi slick or full slick tyres on 15s.

practise ur driving. theres no point of spending huge amounts of money when u cant drive

is this Daniel from Auckland? when did you achieve that? its pretty good.

yeah you dont need that many mods to propel a ITR into the 13's.
ive only done the basic bolt ons IHE, suspension, vafc2, spoon headgasket and organic clutch.
i havent touched the internals yet.
i managed to do a 13.8at101mph on average STREET tyres in near Street trim.(with body kit )

i can feel room for improvement, probably capable of 13.6 if i kept practicing and vafc2 needs to be retuned. plus we have a shitty fuel and shitty drag strips in NZ

so a 13.5's cant be that hard to achieve, since the USA has better everything
i would think it will a hassle to drive around with Toda C's
13.8@101mph Allmotor street trim.

I pull a 14.4 @96mph in my stock JDM ITR (First timer). Running Bridgestone 225/45 So-3's on the front @ 22psi

High 13's should be a decent set of extractors, filter and leads away.

Flyryd above has performed alot of meaningful mods to his car and with a set of semi-slicks and some practice it would definitly be a mid 13 contender-it's just a matter of time 8)
