Rebuilding the ITR engine
Rebuilding the ITR engine
Looking to find a reputable rebuilder here in Ontario, failing that I am thinking to send it to JG Engine dynamics.
I am rebuilding for 2 reasons - one my car is at 150,000KM, 2 I am thinking to go with OS the rings. And get a stage 3 cam. I am running a stage 2 JUN cams now, and I want more zip to go. I relalize with a Stage 3, I am looking at more driveability issues. But I do want more response from my ITR.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I had my motor built by Gord Bush of Gord Bush Engines Inc. He's from T.O so if u live there give him a call I dealt through JRP with Steve cuz he's the one that hooks me up with parts and they deal with him when it goes to building engines for their fastest canadian Drag civic and fast street cars. I think i paid $3400(with a big discount) to have it sleeved and do port and polish and i went .5mm over with the valves, so there was quite a bit of labour involved.

Call Carl "bbqman". He's good stuff. I'd trust him & I'm the design coordinator of this site.bbqman wrote:Trac Motorsport Services in Quebec has successfully built and rebuilt many b18c's for all sorts of competition use.

Excellent replies guys I really appreciate the info, I am aware of Bush, from Leitner and Bush days, but I will take some time a give Carl a ring too. Local T.O is nice, but until I make the call. I hope not to spend too much as I am going nuts on this car as it is. I shouldn't as I have a M5 on the planning list to hopefully purchase.
But I am after a lower end rebuild- hey 150k on this engine
And an upper end rebuild...simple as possible, the engine has been pushed hard as I love to drive, so I figure, time to return the life with fresh components. Any plans to give it more go will be considered, but when I sell this car I want the next owner to have a fresh engine.
Thanks......yeah I deal with Steve at JRP, I used to deal with Derrick but he is in the states now. Wholesale prices help me alot.

I managed to get a 99 itr head and rebuilt the head with skunk2 springs, valves etc retained the Jun stage 2 cams. Unorthodox Racing under drive pullies, and installed a Spoon modified throttle body, AEM fuel pressure regulator...heres the problem...car now does not idle properly, seems to hunt, also seems to be doing predetonation, and does not maintain idle- will stall if given a chance.
Its got me STUMPED!!!!!!!
Good spark, excellent fuel pressure, timing is bang on HELPP HELLLLPPP
