Buying a GSR W/ TYPE R motor.

I have found a 97' GSR W/ a Type R motor the car has less then 85,000 mi. and the motor less then 20,000. GSR motor was blown because he did not put the splash guard on the cold air intake sucked a lot of water in. The owner has all the papers showing he paid over 6000 for the motor,Limited Slip transmission,ECU and some other things to. The motor has been installed by a professional. Asking Price 8,000 that is what he owe's on a loan so he is making no money really. Is this a good buy or is it a ripoff?? Any Comments will be helpful!

It is as long as you get someone who knows what they are looking at looks at it. Like a type r owner. Oh get a compression test done to cover your butt.
