sup...i was wondering...have you guys ever just put an air filter straight onto the intake manifold...you know instead of have an intake there you just have the filter...well...if anybody knows if it is any good...tell me...i want to know if it gains more power, stay the same as an intake, or lose power...let me know...thanks...

YOUR ANSWER.
If you attach the air filter right to the intake manifold. you're gonna end up sucking in a lot of hot air coming off the engine. This will make you loss horsepower because generally you would want cold air because cold air is much more denser. Dense air mixed with fuel burns much more efficiently. Hot air will make you loss horsepower and lower your gas mileage. So, overall, not a good idea. Unless you shield the airfilter from the engine and have colder air come in from somewhere and directly hit the airfilter, which only makes it turn into a cold-air intake system. haha. Well...there you go.
