JDM front end installed pwr lock & alarm doesn't work

Post by ron »

Hello fellow members. I had my car converted to a JDM front end by a shop here in Norcal and I was told by the owner of the shop that the power lock and alarm is not compatible with the JDM front end. I am so bum out because I am advise to get another aftermarket alarm so the power lock will work. The power lock and alarm is working prior to the conversion.

Does anybody experience the same problem after converting their car to a JDM front end?

Your response will be greatly appreciated.
Please advise.

Seriously take your car to another shop! I know pleanty of people with JDM front end conversions and an aftermarket alarm. Not sure about the power locks though. There is NO reason that the conversion would affect your alarm or power locks! They screwed with something that they shouldn't have. FYI- Keep a close eye on your car untill you get it fixed by another shop. They might be trying to 1st get your money for the conversion, then steal your car because they disarmed your alarm. Get it fixed ASAP. Personally I would have the alarm completely redone. Now they know where the disactivate button is and where all your wiring goes.

Ya know you could be right. It's a scary thing... But some places are just shitty like that.

Please get the alarm working right a way and keep a close eye on it.

Complete BS! I've done the conversion twice on my own car and NO WIRING was ever messed with that would even remotely affect that. The only wires they should have messed with is all lighting on the front of your car. Nothing more. When you pick your car up from that shop go directly to another shop and have them look it over and lock it up for you till they figure it out. Protect your baby at all cost!

Ron I noticed you are in the Bay Area! I have ALOT of peoplez in the bay area on this site... http://www.TheImportSource.com

I personally don't know the Bay area, but 7/10th's of the population here does! They can better direct you to a good reliable, honest shop! Heck, even some of the more skilled type in your area can personally help you out................. I am up past sacramento (once I get back from oversea's), so it's a haul 4 me!

Most likely the battery was not disconnected when they welded your radiator support.
