Timing belt...uh oh!

I bought a 98 itR and am the third owner, I was reading the itR owners manual and it says the timing belt should be changed at 60,000 miles..I have no contact with the 1st owner and I want to know if there is any other way to know if this timing belt was ever changed at 60,000 miles.

Just change it anyhow! Better safe then sorry, expecially if that belt goes.....
