I know the Type R's performance is "priceless," but what would you consider to be the fair market value for a stock 97-98 Type R with between 25-40k miles?
Kelly Blue Book, NADA and Edmunds have RETAIL price ranges from $15.3 to $17k.
What are others paying? Should I seek a 2000-2001 Type R under factory warrant instead?
All opinions are appreciated.

It seems that the average transaction price for Type R's are far lower than asking prices or estimated values from current owners.
There have been 2 Ebay auctions with 2000-2001 stock Type R's with b/w 22-38k miles that had high bids less than $18,000. In fact, this 2001 PY Type R only had ONE bid!

Here is what I woudl say should be max purchase prices for a potential buyer. This isn't to say if you find one that holds additional value for you based on locations, mods or condition you should not pay a little more.
All would be consdieered with average to low miles.
1997: $16,000
1998: $17,000
2000: $19500
2001: $20,000
These are just rough estimates. YOu can easily find deals but mostly on 2000.2001 and not the older ones.

Well i would pay more money for a 97 sence theres not that many left..
1997 are more of a car you buy to put in the garage and Store it.. and only bring it out for shows that you trailer it there and back... there kinda like the Shelby Gt500 of the import late 90's ... only so many made and hard as hell to find and not that cheap to buy..

97's definitely carry the rareest title but I love the 98 for the loks and color.
