Just Bought an ITR...
Just Bought an ITR...
I am getting an ITR on Sat., its a 2001, 33k miles, bone stock, I haven't seen the car because its coming from a different state (I know...its kind of unnerving but the dealer in Cali thought it looked good) and I'm pretty excited. Anything I should know about now that its too late? Anything I should look forward to? I will be racing the car in Solo2 in the stock class, so does anyone have any suggestions for shocks? (I know there is a separate section for questions like that...)

Do you know the Color yet??? Congrats! I'm quite happy with the stock set-up. You'll be quite impressed with what stock has to offer.

sweet, welcome to the CLUB!! you'll love your new car, and as the shock department goes personally i'm running these... a bit on the expensive side but they're pretty dialed, 99 Spec Apex-i N1 Dampers

I don't know if anything is wrong with the stock shocks, I haven't driven the car yet, but I'm trying to compete on a national level and the national level DS cars all have other shocks... I drove an HS civic before this and really wasn't competitive at all, so I am looking forward to actually placing (maybe...) at natl. this year.

If you plan to run regional DS with ITR, your OE shocks will do the trick.SaraITR wrote:I am getting an ITR on Sat., its a 2001, 33k miles, bone stock, I haven't seen the car because its coming from a different state (I know...its kind of unnerving but the dealer in Cali thought it looked good) and I'm pretty excited. If you plan to run SCCA DS National level autocross, anything less than the Koni double adjustable revalved shocks won't cut it. The Penske's and Ohlins seem to be a good choice too.
The most important things to do is stagger the tires with 225/45 up front.
I hope to see you at the Nationals!
I couldn't drive to Cali to get the car, so the owner offered to drive it here. Before I agreed to buy it, I had 2 Acura dealerships do a prepurchase inspection and call me personally with the results. They said everything looked great. So I wired him half the money as security, but then I spent all night worrying that he wasn't going to show up, or that he had gotten in an accident and the car would be trashed when I saw it. I was very surprised when he showed up, the car was beautiful.
The car is from So. Cali, but he drove it all the way to Utah for me. The day I got it was the first time the car had seen snow... Now it won't stop snowing and I really don't want to buy snow tires that I'll need for a month, so I'm getting anxious, I just want to drive it and racing doesn't start for 2 more months... Its torture
