Best oil????

I am running a 2.0 vtec setup in my R. 11.8:1 is my compression ratio. I have been running mobil one and I have really had no problems with the oil. I just purchased a box of 10 HAMP oil filters from jhp and I was considering changing to a different brand of oil. redline,royal purple, neo synthetics, castrol syntec? I've got about 8K invested in my motor and I want to make sure that its getting the best oil I can get. Just lookin for some input or just to see what everyone else is running.

Oil...

Oh boy, You really hit a sore spot with many of us.

It seems that there are many personal preferences but as for proven facts on which oil is the best... It's still up in the air.

I used Mobil 1 5/30 for 5 years in the R and the week after I changed to GTX my motor broke.

what ever the reason... I dunno.

I would continue to use what you have been and be happy.

I used Syntec for the first 5 years, and once I hurt the motor I switched to GTX because it was cheaper....she was drinking over 1 quart per week

After I break in my new motor, I'll switch back to syntec.

I personally run "Redline" oil.

I have been thinking about switching to synthetic. Heard the possibility of better gas mileage and less wear on the internals. Not too sure about the second statement.

Anyone experience less oil burning after switching to syn? That would be my main motivation to make the jump.
