Need some help.. Insurance and 16 yrs old.

Post by NewITRuser »

Hey everyone, I am new here so I need some help with my questions. I am looking to buy a 2000 Integra Type R, black on black. It is a salvaged title. I was wondering how much would the insurance be. I am 16 years old, living in California. Thanks for reading. :D

That is a question none of us can answer for you.
Ask a local Ins Broker for a quote, it should be free.
The reason why I say go to a broker is because there are way too many variables.

Consider this:

My 2002 S2000 cost me 400$ less a year to insure than my 1999 type R.

Could you please use meaningful subject titles when you start a topic? The purpose of the title is to give people a clue about what's inside when browsing the forum titles, without actually having to open the topic. "Need some help" says absolutely nothing. Next time, please be more specific, for example "Value of 2000 ITR Salvage Title" would tell people what you're asking/talking about. Thank you.

It will cost you a crap-load. If you're dead set on the ITR then you might want to ask your parents if you can go under their policy. Then you get a multi-car discount, and it will be cheaper. If you are paying for full coverage yourself, being 16yo in a Type R...say goodbye to thousands of dollars a year just in insurance. Go to http://www.Progressive.com - they have a relatively quick and free quoting system that you can check out

Exactly what I was thinking. I'm sure you could offer him advice though as to what your insurance it at such a young age.

I have to skip meals to afford it, is that well enough?

Get an LS or GSR for now, and upgrade later on.

I echo others sentiments, a 16yr old should learn to drive in something else besides an ITR (unless it is exclusively at autox).

Insurance will be super crazy expensive. However, why not call an agent and ask for a quote? They can answer that question way better than we can.
