Headlight and tail light covers...
I was looking at Lamin-x 's site and thought hrmmm.... why didn't they have this 5 years ago
So I bought it for the R and the WRX, thinking it would be as easy to install as the 97 328is I did for my friend last week. Uhhh,,, Not. I only did one headlight and it took me 40 mins and doing both lights and both fogs on the bmw took me 20 mins.
Here are some pics from a few mins ago...
I had to take a dinner break, now back to the garage for the rest of the night... (manual labor) HA!
3 more head lights on R
2 tail lights on R
2 head lights on WRX
2 fog lights on WRX
and if they did not forget the parking lights covers for the R I'd be doing that too.. Already contacted laminX about the missing two pieces, I hope they have good customer service

Lets try the pics again...
Before
After
And this was the lightest tint they had!!! I'm glad I did not get the dark stuff
here are the headlights...
Before
cleaning...
clay to remove all dirt
Applied and using the squeage and blow drier to heat up, shape and stick.
almost done...
Here is a few pics...
Over all... 5 out of 10. Harsh maybe... But the stuff is hard to work with and the heated garage did not help. this stuff needs to be applied on a hot summer day with the sun wailing on the lights to keep the film and everything warm and pliable.
Now for the good things... I'll never have to put blue tape on my front lights for track
and rocks and stuff on the highways getting to tracks hopefully won't do any more damage.
uhhh... yeah that's,,, well it does look cool, sort of.
If you are interested in buying- Lamin-X dot com. Not too pricey, But make sure if you do order. for them to get the parts correct.

As for the lighting effect this stuff has... I do see a drop in the brightness, but Until I get it on the road I won't know. ...ITR that is.
It did effect the WRX significantly tho...
I got the same tint for the headlights and the Yellow for the fogs.
Head lights are dimmer (but I thought ahead and got some bright bulbs coming this week, 85wt) and the yellow for the fog lamps looks pretty wicked. Now I see everything in PY
Would I get this stuff again... I just don't know, the ricer inside loves it. the practial person would not bother unless it was the clear stuff.

After the upcoming dreaded NJ inspection I'll be re-tinting the front doors again with my standard 20%.
Now as for the lightoutput... it chopped off a bunch but with the HIDs it's not that bad, not nearly the same but better then the crappy 55 wt stock bulbs.
And yes, it ties in all the black items on the car... Maybe I'll black out the emblems too
