noobie question..

Post by naDC2R »

Im kind of not very familiar with the whole ecu thing. i have a 96 jdm itr, with cams, port+polish, etc, etc. Im about to go get it tuned in a month, and i was wondering wats the best thing for me to do to it? I was thinking gettin the skunk2 conversion harness and chipping a p28 ecu. My goal is to get as much as i can out of this motor, ALL motor. Is there anything else i should "tune" besides the cam gears? would the vafc really help in this situation, since im getting the p28 chipped?

Thanks.

getting a programable ECU instead of a VAFC and a chipped ECU will get you a finer more detailed tune while producing more power and safer results ( if the tuner knows what he is doing)

I have a 97 gsr all motor setup and dropped it down to obd1 and got my ecu shipped...I also am running a VAFC and have all the tunning options..The guy i have tuning my car says thats the way to go unless you have a shop around your area that will tune with a HONDATA then i would go that route but im new to the game so get more info thats just my opinion...
