Post by ITR1 »

Hey guys,

I ran a 14.79 w/ AEM CAI, removed P/S and shitty 2.3 60'ft time (SHITTY BFgoodrich all season Traction tires..)

What would i possibly run with headers/testpipe but stock exhaust??

ALso, what kind of powergains would i get w/headers/testpipe

Thx in advance

I say work on your skills before getting any mods on the car, a stock R can get low low 14.s if driven right.

Now your fist mod once mastered would be tires for drag racing.

Good luck! and remember, practice makes perfection

Not bad for a first time out. FWIW I ran 14.4 in a stock R. You gotta feel the car out and figure out what works for you. I launched my car at 5500 RPM. Most people other than us R owners look at you funny when you tell them that. The trick is to come out of the hole and still be in V-tec. If you time it right, with very little wheel spin you'll get 2.0-2.1 60' and that will help you down the track. Also what tire pressure were you running? That will make a big difference as well. This biggest thing for most people new to it, is getting over the sweaty palms and shaking nerves. Forget the tree, forget your RT, take your time the clock starts when you leave the line, not when it goes green. The only other thing I can suggest is practice and have fun.

Its definetly my tires, i spin like CRAZY... or maybe im not riding the clutch hard enough.

I wish i cold hit mid 14s effortlessly, hehe.

At first i dropped it down to 18psi, i trapped and ran soo bad.. like 15+ @ 90mphs...

The deflated tires really messed it up, must have created roll resistance.

But i jacked it up to 23-24psi it was fine, i started running 14's and trapping 95.

I gotta get some drag radials!
