I bought a right side axle from NAPA in Topeka at the Nationals last year when i was stuck. It exploded last week during an autocross. Good for about 20,000km.Chris F wrote:I just switched to new $99 NAPA axles. They even stock them at my local NAPA. Nice.
Local rebuilds have last much less.
I truly regret replacing my OE axles at 180,000km when they were still working well. I thought that I would be doing preventitive maintenance but I have only had problems with rebuilds.
Right now, I am trying OE rebuilt axles prepared by the shop that used to make my custom race axles for my CRx.... we'll see how that goes.
A word of advice, stay away from any rebuilds that use 'new' heads. They are made in taiwan and are soooo cheap.
