what you guys think? ... (new clutch)

Post by cory25 »

well its time for a new clutch, I ve herd you guys talk a good bit about wich ones to get. so I think I am goiing with the EXEDY ORGANIC clutch kit. I found it http://www.summitracing.com here's the part number : EAC-08-800B It's hard to tell if this will work on a type r, if someone could go there and look to make sure I am getting the thing that would be sweet. And I was going to put a new flywheel in as well, the EXEDY one is 9.46lbs what is the weight of the stock one?

If anyone has a better sugg on a diff clutch please let me know, my has no mods done and wont for a while.

Thanks

stock FW is about 15.x lbs.

As for ordering from Summit, I do and never had a problem.

But you might want to check out the Expo sponsers and see what kind of deals can be had... If none of the sponsers can hook you up to your liking then try clutchcityonline.com. I have had 2 very good purchases thru them.

I second Rob's recommendation of clutchcityonline.com FTW! Free shipping and a good price.

08-800B will work. All B-series clutches are interchangable.

I went from stock to the Comptech 6.75lbs and was in heaven! If they made a lighter one I'd be first in line to buy.

I have a 7.5 pound Fidanza. Love it. Same as Rob, if I could go lighter I would (which I did, went from a sprung clutch to an unsprung, ~ 1 pound).

Does lighter flywheel actually adds any power to wheels or it just makes car rev faster? Then how does it make car faster?... confused  could never understand how it works
