Proud new owner of 2001 CW Type R

After a 1 month search for the perfect, low mileage Type R, I finally found her. Thanks to this forum, I stumbled upon a 2001 Canadian spec, Champoinship White Type R with 6,000 miles.

Now I'm anxiously awaiting enclosed transport from Seattle to North Carolina. It should be here in about 10 days. Special thanks to the previous owner for these recent pics. (Good luck with the WRX, C!)

Congrats on your purchase. I to have recently imported an 01 CW R from Canada. The only thing I noticed different is mine has a leather shift knob instead of titanium.

If you paid any Canadian tax, you are eligible for a refund from the Canadian government. All you need to submit is an orginal/stamped(as exported)reciept and the form herehttp://www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca/visitors/

That must have cost a few bucks to have it shipped from the northwest. It wasn't too bad for me. I live in upstate NY and drove it across the boarder myself.

Make sure you layer the security on. Not too many CDN R's in the US and I'm sure you'll want to hang on to it.

To answer the question " How do you import a car from Canada":
The easiest way to find an importer/broker. All they need is proof there are no recalls on the car and the vehicle specs. I purchased the car and drove it to customs w/ a transporter plate. My broker had the paper work waiting there for me. Shuffled some papers around and then drove the car to the brokers holding lot. It sat their for two days until they were able to provide me w/ the paper work to register it. It cost me 2.71% of the selling price for tax/duty and 450.00 brokers fee. I registered it and then drove it home.

Well, I can thank the previous owner for importing the Canadian Type R into the US. The car was registered in Washington state.

It's costing $1700 to ship the car via enclosed transport. I'm using http://www.horselesscarriage.com Hell, the Acura may be the CHEAPEST car on the cross-country transport! I heard there were 3 Ferraris on board.

Driving the car 3,000 miles in the middle of winter was not my idea of fun. Because of the car's theft rate, open-transport was not an option either.

The Canadian queen has landed! The enclosed car carrier driver said "nice car." That was quite a compliment from a guy who just delivered 3 Porsches and 2 Ferraris cross-country.

Very nice. Are you in the Triangle area? I'm in search of one but it's so hard to come across one that is not ragged out with "performance parts" like pulleys and coffee can exhausts that totally take away from the car's appearance.
