will these fit my ITR?

Post by malv1 »

i am looking at a set of wheels for my R. The wheels came off of a 93 prelude. the bolt pattern is 4/114.3 and the wheel seems to be universal. I know ours are 5/114.3 but the way the bolt holes look, they might fit 4 or 5 lug. the wheels are enkei wun guns and i would like to know this.

thanks

If they are fitting a 4 lug car, and your car is not a 96spec then they probably won't work. Though 4 lug universal, I think they are probably made for 2 different 4 lug models. Not 4 lug and 5 lug.

I've never seen one with a lug hole setup like that. It seems that its still only 4x114 though. Those are pretty beat up too. :?

Please explain to me why a 4 lug wheel would EVER fit on 5 lug?

i never said a four lug would fit a five lug. i was merely asking if there was such a thing of a universal wheel like that.

If you looked at the picture, it was a very odd universal pattern and i was just checking...

hows that.........

First, I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I looked at that pic and knew it wouldn't fit immediately. Here's why: (amazing how you can think something through in your head, yet writing it out takes forever)

The picture looks like 12 holes to me, all evenly spaced and the same distance from the center of the wheel. if four of them are 4x114.3, then they all are. pretty simple actually.

A 5x114.3 wheel will have five holes, each 72 degrees apart at the center of each hole and 114.3 mm from the center of the wheel. (0, 72, 144, 216, 288).

A 4x114.3 wheel will have four holes, each 90 degrees apart. Or in this case, 12 holes that are 30 degees apart. At no point does any of the 12 holes (except for the one you choose to align when trying to mount the wheel) align with any of the locations necessary for 5x114.3

Just taking a few minutes to think about what you are looking at would yield the answer.

Clitz, joo makin my head hurt. you could have summed that all up by this statement.

"Not trying to be a jerk, but that rim only has 12 holes in it. 12 cannot be divided by 5, but can be by 4. Therefore you will not be able to install those rims on ANY 5 lug car."
