Hey guys,
Im in the process of purchasing a 97 USDM ITR out of state and are trying to "clarify" the parts (i.e Original motor, tranny, etc) on the car. I found myself a bit lost, comparing some of the items to the 98-above U.S ITR's. =(
Im crossed reference to 98 ITR's ( AS I currently own 2 of them) and have never owned a 97 ITR. If you asking why
My first question is..
1.) Do Original 97 ITR Tranny have the factory "J4D LSD" stamping on them?
2.) Is the tranny supposed to carry the factory green vin plate, found on 98 and above ITR's?
3.) Do 97 ITR's have a PR3-1 head stamping, versus PR3-3/4 on 98 and above R's.
4.) If they dont have the Factory green vin plate on the trannys, what number should be on the sticker found on pre-98 trannys.
Thanks for any help you can provide, This will definitely complete my book of knowledge on 97-01 ITR's

I'll clarify on #3. Yes, PR3 is correct. The numbers afterwards don't really matter. All B16's heads are stamped PR3.
