Integra chassis question...

Post by The Gnome »

Are there any chassis differences between the LS/GS, GS-R, and Type R? I know that the Type R chassis is specially designed specifically for that car, but will suspension components built for a Type R be able to be used on a LS model?

I'm helping a friend with her LS model Integra, and we're looking for a good coilover/suspension setup. I suggested the Tein type Flex setup, but it looks like it's only applicable to the Type R. Would it work on the LS anyway? It's a 1996 if that helps any.

Thanks in advance.

Everything will bolt up but with respect to suspentoin the LS will need Type-R Rear lower control arms to work with Type-R suspension.

You need a Type R cross-member in the back for a type R suspension to fit.

No you don't.

All you need are the Type-R Rear lower control arms. Trust me, done it more than once.

The rear swayber is a different story but a little costom fabrication will make that work.

well correct me if im wrong but the rear control arms connect to the cross member that the GS-R doesn't have and is exclusive to the Type R.

They do connect to the crossmember that the GSR doesn't have. BUT the mounting location on both the GSR subframe and the Type-R Subframe are the same for the rear LCA's. THe only difference in subframes in the Swyabar mounting points.
