best protection
well ive had 2 cars Stolen from me and it not a fun time..
1st the best way i have found to keep my cars safe is i run 2 alarms..
and anythime i have any work done to my car even a oil change.. i clear all my remotes from my alarm.. 2nd i never leave my car where it is in plan sight of anyone driving by my house (garage, back yard , carcover anything ) .. 3rd watch your ass when you drive home it's ez for someone to follow you home and you not even know it.. 4th dont let punk kids look at your motor because thay think you are there next target.. thay could be checking out your car for your alarm siren and hood pin.
5th and this works the best.. spend you weekend up in you room overlooking your car .. windows down alarm off and sit up all night and wait tell you get some bites... if you do get any run out of your house and pack a big gun.. if thay runaway (like thay always do) yell (dont you lil punks come around my car ever again) and let off 2 shots in the air (if you live in the city i wouldnt advise this ) Word will get around to all the car thiefs that you watch your car at night and you will kill them if thay try to steal your car..

I 8 UR VETTE
not an itr owner yet...but ....
hey whats up
well i dont own a type r yet...i know what the hell am i doing here...but i am planning on getting one soon....
as far as protection ourselves from thieves..the two alarms and clearing the sensors does work,,, but i also have a fuel pump kill switch and a second battery kill switch on my skyline,,, i wont say what alarm i have or how i park my car ....because keep in mind the car thefts are usually people who know these cars,, they know how to start these cars.. and they are usually driving the same type of car and are in the import car scene,, which means they are on message boards here also... and to help them see your car,, dont let everyone know your car group with stickers and decals and let people know what you have as far as parts,, it real easy to these cars at shows and all you have to do is follow the right sucka who wants to flash his car around,,,
or they can just car jack you and then you can really do anything so before you leave if the car is that important to you ,, like my skyline is to me you have to do extra things that a normal person will not....so i guess along with owning great cars we also have to be a little weary with others looking at our cars too....

A bunch of different items, kill switches atleast 2, steering wheel club, alarm with pager, wheel locks, garage, car blocking garage (with alarm),key immobilizer, back up battery for alarm. Ther are so many different ways to protect the car, Ya just have to be carefull and not leave it anywhere thats going to attract negative peeps and that means no public places unless you stay with the car.
Good luck.
Good luck.

There's nothing you can really do to protect your car, if a thief is determined and skilled enough. You can put a bunch of theft deterents to slow them down though. Here's the set-up I have, if I'm leaving my car in a "risky" spot. Turn wheels all the way to one side, lock steering wheel (prevents your car from being pushed/towed), apply the club (OK...cut through the steering wheel to get that off...still, it may slow them down, or even deter them), apply the AutoLoc to the clutch and leave car in neutral (prevents them from putting the car in gear), take the ECU out, and keep it with you, activate Alarm (alarms do little more than make noise, but hey, it might draw attention to ur vehicle while it's trying to be stolen). I can't think of much else to do...ITRChris wrote:The bottom line is if somebody wants your car bad enough, they are going to get it, or at least parts of it. I had my spoiler ripped off and decals stolen...Try Lojack, and always a garage... I havent had any problems since.

theft
As mentioned above..if they want it , they'll get it.
But to ward off the punks, I use a Clfford alarm with 2 sirens and a battery back-up.
When I have to park in the city, I remove the positive electic socket under the hood that disables it from starting. You need one of these plugs to start the car or else....
And aside from sleeping in it, this is the best you can do.
Good luck

There is another option: live in an area where car theft is almost unheard of, where a simple alarm practically guarantees your car won't ever be bothered . There may be a car or two a year stolen in my area, but those are just kids stealing dad's pickup for a little joy ride
It works well for me
