I am confused by the time stamps. It seems to me that some of your IM conversation with him took place after you talked to me and after I had edited and moved your thread.

Are you sure you weren't trying to be deliberately provocative?

I don't deny that. I enjoy a good debate, and have no problem with such. You feel I was overboard? Why? Because him telling me that is the end of the discussion wasn't good enough for me? I WANTED him to be frustrated - I hoped that would spur him into an intelligent debate opponent. There is a basic set of rules and framework there - yet I violated NONE OF THEM. I was banned for THREATS TO MODERATOR when there was none.

Yes, I continued to converse via pm with him after you moved my thread. I needed to understand WHY my thread was locked - and don't give me that 'lack of tech' excuse when there are MANY MANY threads like that floating around there. Whether deliberately provocative or not, that's TRUTH. I'm sorry if that mod can't inteligently debate nor defend his actions beyond a canned response of 'no tech, end of discussion.'

What about the lack of notification? How hard is it to drop a pm saying 'please edit your thred to reflect some tech info as it is required in this forum," or ''i'm moving your thread to GDD for lack of technical info,' instead of just a lock without warning? Whatever happened to general courtesy? That's what I have a problem with! Ooh, and if I happen to have a lack of courtesy for a mod, then it's BAN. It's not good to see that the forums that we call home are rife with double standards.

I'm a moderator on another board, and act pretty much the same there that I do on h-t. Hell, I act that same way on h-t. I DO have trouble respecting anyone who hides behind their mod status - on the freaking internet for crissake - instead of intelligently conducting a civil debate.

So do h-t mods have noone to defend their actions to?

There is a whole lot of information and mis-information on HT, but very little wisdom, and intelligence is even more rare. :)

Alas, these seem to be symptoms of the Web, in general.
