Aight, computer problems FTL! Just got done reading Opie's 3 attempted theft threads over there. Whew..... It may be a good thing I don't have a concealed weapons permit...Flight over fight will keep me outta jail because I'd shoot those fucks dead.Dave_B wrote:Joe man, how it be?
How's things with you man? Get the R ready to roll again?

Computer problems? Like what? Ha, I had to bump that old ass one for all the new guys to see how it is to own an R. I totally remember that story when it happened. Some crazy shit. I'm getting my permit soon enough. I'll be doing some more road traveling in state here soon and SFL and a few other places are on the list. Flight over fight? Ha, that rule changed not long ago here in FL. Legally, if you feel your life is in danger, you can shoot someone. I believe the law says you have to tell them you have a gun and are going to shoot them if they don't leave you alone, and at that point you can open fire IIRC.Doespike wrote:Aight, computer problems FTL! Basically, I cannot connect to ANY website via IE or Firefox if AIM and/or MSN messenger are running, or have ran since boot-up. Even after closing those IM programs, I have to restart the comp before it can connect to any sites. I'm getting "404" and "403" errors. I've run the 3Com NIC diagnostic program which showed all was well with that. All these years of having a computer, I've never had IM programs halt web browsing.
I built my computer a few years ago, and is running a legit Windows XP Pro. I reformatted and clean installed everything a few months ago.
I keep thinking of getting a handgun permit up here, takes about 9 months of red tape. Now I wish I had, this state just elected an out-spoken antigun idiot for Governor. Plus, as of right now. Concealed weapon permits are very tough to get, but if you get a regular handgun permit for home/range use, it'll automatically become a right to carry permit after 5 years. We'll see how long that last once this fool gets into office in Jan....

To bad you don't have MSN messenger working or I could remote into it. Sounds kinda odd like you have some sort of TCP config wrong or some other network connection it's looking for. :shrug:Doespike wrote:Basically, I cannot connect to ANY website via IE or Firefox if AIM and/or MSN messenger are running, or have ran since boot-up. As for the permits, down here it's a 3 day period for your gun and for the license it takes a certain course that a deputy is at. You go through all the BS in the "class" and they give you the filled in paperwork to go up to the state capital. After that it's about 2 weeks of background BS and then they send you it. Pretty easy IMO down here.

Yeah, if I can't figure it out soon, I may reformat again. I dunno. I'm pretty sure it's just my computer. I'm on a home network with my mom, her computer has been fine and I even switched our ports on the router to rule it out as the cause. Oye, I long for the DOS and Windows 3.1 days. They were simple and Penthouse.com was free.Dave_B wrote:To bad you don't have MSN messenger working or I could remote into it. Yes Jim, I'm alive... Working for myself has become a good thing and I can't complain one bit. I don't really have time to sit and surf the WWW much anymore, but I always sneak in a min or two to read ITRCA
And when I have the chance I log in to friend's computers and make a post or two
